Sound quality is what you would expect from a Sony product.Exceptional. Installation was took about 10 min. Very easy to install.
Everything works fine with this cd/radio, except there's no external antenna to play with. The power cord acts as the antenna, so you are limited as to how to help your favorite station come in if it sounds fuzzy. Would've liked some way to attach an additional antenna to correct this (there are no external antenna hookups) and be able to listen to what I specifically wanted to, not just whatever happens to come in.
They do not pay for return postage. No external FM antenna is possible.
It is like the 10th FM radio I have in the house. Terrible FM reception.I got this Sony ICF-CDK50 CD/Clock radio for Christmas.
Terrible FM reception on all stations. Every other radio gets the local public radio station.
This radio only barely got it, and it was full of static. The requirement to have the power cord horizontal greatly reduces placement options and had very limited impact on reception quality.I suggest very high caution in buying this radio--the reception is really bad.The return policy for "Buy Accessories" was quite stringent (note, you return it directly to Buy, not to Amazon) They require every single piece of original packing material.
I eventually did get it returned.
Installation would have been easy if the recessed area under my cabinet was less than ~1.5 inches or so (Don't quote me on it). Have not needed to change the battery so no good or bad rating on it.
Other reviews indicated people are having problems picking up radio stations. I am not having that issue.
Just got this for our kitchen. Remote works great throughout the kitchen and surrounding area.
All the stations we listen to are coming in strong and clear. Sound quality is sony-esque (excellent).
Installation was very tough only because the underside of my cabinets are recessed ~3 inches, requiring me to build up a base with plywood to mount to. Overall, I love this product.
I brought it as a Christmas gift for my daughter and she loves it. It looks and sounds great, and its great company for Baxter, the family dog.
